I’ve been where you are right now.
Wondering if I was wasting my time. Praying an audience would find me. Worrying I wasn’t good enough.
I know how tough it is and I’m not going to sugarcoat things for you…
Blogging is hard. Writing is hard. Getting noticed is hard.
Some days you will love the challenge. Other days, you will feel defeated.
And it’s those days of defeat when you need someone who’s traveled the same path.
You can get blogging tips anywhere. You can get writing, content marketing, and entrepreneurship tips anywhere too.
But tips won’t help you when you feel like throwing in the towel. Neither will tricks, strategies, guides, hacks, or tutorials. Even well-meaning posts with headlines like, “What To Do When You’re Stuck At <insert the name of the exact thing you do>” will fail you when you’re feeling like a failure.
Do you know what will help you?
A friend who knows what you’re going through, has experienced the same trials, and who can point you in the right direction.
Someone you can email, express your frustrations to, and get a thoughtful response from when you’ve hit a stumbling block.
And guess what?
I know just the guy.
A Different Kind of Newsletter
When you subscribe to my email list, yes, you will receive notifications when I’ve published something new.
And yes, you will receive the occasional announcement when I have special news worth sharing.
You’re getting my email address.
I know that doesn’t sound like much, and for basically every other newsletter or email list out there it isn’t much, but with me it’s a direct line of contact.
When you’re on my email list, you have access to the email address I check daily. Not a random address I send emails from but never check — my actual email address.
What does that mean?
Well, it means if you have a problem, you can write me and I’ll try to help you.
I can’t promise I’ll be as prompt in responding as in the above example, and I certainly can’t promise my replies will be as detailed.
But I can promise I’ll respond.
You’re probably wondering why I’m doing this — why I’m committing so much of my time.
It’s because I’m not looking to grow an email list of lukewarm subscribers.
If I wanted that, I’d simply create a short eBook, offer it as a lead magnet, and call it a day.
No, a sea of random people who couldn’t pick my writing out of a crowd and who will unsubscribe the first time I send them one email too many doesn’t appeal to me.
Know what does?
Fellow soldiers on the blogging battlefield…
An army of appreciative warriors…
And you can’t get true fans by simply creating an eBook. You can’t get them by sending a few automated emails every month.
You get them by being helpful.
By extending your hand in their time of need.
Or, as I told a friend recently:
What we need as bloggers is not more tips. What we need as bloggers is not more emails. What we need as bloggers is not more tricks, strategies, guides, hacks, or tutorials.
What we need as bloggers is someone who will take us under their wing and show us the way.
Let me be that someone for you.
